Instruments and Data
More than 20 different remote sensing and in-situ instruments observe cloud and precipitation processes within JOYCE-CF. In addition to cloud macro- and microphysics, profiles of temperature, water vapor, wind, etc. are measured to understand the entire life cycle of clouds. Most instruments operate continuously, and dedicated field campaigns are carried out for special projects.
You can find more detailed information on the instruments, including data and operation modes in our five observation fields.
If you want to get direct access to data of specific instruments or instrument products there are a few options for you:
• All data can be requested by our request sheets (see instrument pages)
• Some data from the observatory JuCol is directly available via the
SAMD database
• Some data from the observatory in Bonn is available via the
Institute of Geoscience database
If you have any questions, or you cannot find what you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact the JOYCE-CF Coordinating Team.
